Sustainability Associate - Packaging ID- 10946

About the position

The Sustainability Associate - Packaging at ALDI is responsible for supporting the How2Recycle labeling process, reporting, and various packaging sustainability projects. This role aims to coordinate actions and compliance with ALDI's sustainability initiatives while providing support to the Sustainability packaging team. The position emphasizes the importance of environmental responsibility and aims to lessen the impact of ALDI's practices on the planet.

Responsibilities

  • Support the How2Recycle labeling process and packaging sustainability projects.
  • Provide general administration, word processing, data entry, and filing support as required.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Corporate Responsibility reporting, including benchmarking and action plan development.
  • Act as a liaison for the Buying department regarding Corporate Responsibility-related issues.
  • Maintain and improve organization of research and media monitoring for Corporate Responsibility trends and competitor activity.
  • Research and analyze multiple information sources related to Corporate Responsibility topics and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to the direct leader.
  • Comply with ALDI privacy and security requirements regarding confidential information.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Economics, Sustainability, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task efficiently.
  • Effective time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
  • Experience in Corporate Responsibility or sustainability initiatives.
