Responsibilities

  • Review designs and computations performed by staff.
  • Investigate project engineering feasibility and cost.
  • Prepare job schedules and establish field line and grade for construction crews.
  • Review and approve permits for construction of utilities or improvements.
  • Compile field data for planning and construction of utility facilities.
  • Prepare records and reports required for engineering assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid California Class 'C' driver's license or equivalent at time of appointment.
  • Skill in principles of civil and structural engineering, drafting, and survey methods.
  • Ability to apply civil engineering principles to solve specific problems.
