The Position

The Maple Grove Community Center is seeking Guest Service Representatives who serve as the first point of contact for the patrons of the Maple Grove Community Center. As a guest service representative, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patrons at all times in a diverse and high-traffic environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for executing tasks that help with the day-to-day operations of the community center. Come join our growing and diverse community!

Hours of Work

Weekday nights 4:30-8:30 PM and weekends between 8 AM - 8:30 PM.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides quality customer services to all patrons while performing any task or function.
  • Receives and routes phone calls, takes and distributes messages.
  • Greet and refer visitors to proper persons or areas, provide general information, and answer routine questions regarding general services, programs, and procedures.
  • Assist patrons in completing forms and applications that require standard information.
  • Operate office equipment to assist in the completion of tasks/functions.
  • Assist with sending out mailings, materials, and equipment process deliveries.
  • Operate cash register, computer, I.D. equipment, cleaning equipment, concession equipment, and prepare food in concessions stand.
  • Accept mail-in registrations for participants in recreational programs, activities, classes, and lessons. Follow all established procedures to process registrations.
  • Coordinates efforts to ensure the City of Maple Grove is an equitable, inclusive, and respectful organization and supports the City’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand and respect the diversity of customers and co-workers, effectively communicating with individuals whose first language may be one other than English.
  • The duties listed above are intended to illustrate the type of work performed and are not all-inclusive. Supervisors will assign work found similar in nature for the position.

Qualifications

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.

Need to have:


  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Lift 25lbs or more.
Nice to have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a food service environment.
  • Previous clerical experience and multi-line phone use.
  • Experience using cash registers and computers.
  • Previous customer service experience in a diverse, high-traffic environment.
