About the position

The City of Cape Coral is the seventh largest city in Florida, has over 1,500 full-time employees, provides various career path opportunities, and offers a robust training and development program for improving current talents, developing new skills, and building effective business relationships. We are looking to fill positions in the Utilities and Public Works Department.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes various manual, gas, and electrical tools and equipment in the performance of assigned tasks, and maintains such for safe and productive use.
  • Performs daily preparation of assigned vehicle, related equipment and supplies.
  • Performs minor maintenance and repair on city property as directed.
  • Assists skilled personnel in construction projects and cleanup as directed.
  • Repairs and cleans water, wastewater or stormwater lines/structures, responds to wastewater or stormwater backups, and re-sods construction areas.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Six (6) months of experience in related field of manual labor.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire.
