About the position

As an Amazon Sortation Center Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for the initial stages of the delivery process. This fast-paced, physical role takes place in a sortation center where you will engage in sorting, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets to prepare customer orders for delivery. The position offers flexibility, allowing you to choose shifts that best fit your schedule, with the option to adjust your hours in the future as needed. Your daily responsibilities will include receiving and sorting inventory, preparing customer orders for delivery, and utilizing technology such as scanners, computers, and handheld printers. The role requires physical stamina, as you will need to lift packages weighing up to 49 pounds and perform various physical activities such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching throughout your shifts. Additionally, you may be required to navigate stairs and work at heights of up to 40 feet in certain areas of the warehouse. At Amazon, safety is a top priority. You will be provided with protective gear and will participate in daily safety discussions with your team.

 

The work environment includes moving machinery, and while the temperature is controlled, it can vary significantly, especially in certain areas like the truck yard. The noise level can also be high, and hearing protection is available if needed.
