Position Overview:

Swift Straw is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Class A CDL driver to transport pine straw throughout our network. The role will be based out of Swift Straw’s McDonough, GA location.

As a Truck Cor driver, you will be responsible for transporting pine straw using van trailers between various supply locations and customers across Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. A successful candidate will have significant backing experience and will report to the McDonough Dispatch Team, with a dedicated dispatcher. This is a day shift position, Monday through Friday, with the potential for weekend work. The role offers the benefit of returning home each night.

Responsibilities:

  • Show up to work on time and be punctual with pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring reliability and consistency.
  • Perform comprehensive pre- and post-trip inspections of all trailers, maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and demonstrate proficiency with ELD systems.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trailers when necessary.
  • Report safety discrepancies and strictly adhere to DOT regulations regarding safe driving practices, vehicle inspection, and maintenance.
  • Transport pine straw efficiently throughout the designated service areas, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
  • Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, energy, and self-motivation.
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and adjust driving practices in inclement weather, prioritizing responsible driving and safety.
  • Utilize GPS and other routing technologies effectively, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
