About the position

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a full-time Fire Inspector/Investigator to enhance the operations of the Fire department. This role involves conducting fire inspections, investigations, and ensuring compliance with various laws and ordinances, while working independently under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct origin and cause fire inspections and investigations.
  • Perform fire inspections of new and existing facilities to ensure compliance with laws and ordinances.
  • Meet with contractors and examine building plans for construction projects.
  • Perform plan reviews of proposed facilities to ensure compliance with city requirements.
  • Conduct fire and arson investigations.
  • Investigate environmental crimes and enforce related laws.
  • Manage evidence in cases of criminal acts.
  • Enforce federal, state, and local laws and codes.
