About the position

The ISOC Operational Security Monitor at PGE is responsible for evaluating and maintaining systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems, networks, databases, and web-based security. This role involves recommending and implementing changes to enhance system security, researching security trends, and preemptively eliminating the possibility of system breaches. The position focuses on areas such as threat intelligence, incident response, forensics, and vulnerability management, contributing to the overall security posture of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic risk assessments for small information systems.
  • Communicate information security risks and issues to business managers and others.
  • Contribute to vulnerability assessments.
  • Apply and maintain specific security controls as required by organizational policy and local risk assessments.
  • Respond to security breaches in line with security policy and record the incidents and actions taken.
  • Apply information assurance and security policies to manage risks.
  • Provide advice and guidance to endorse adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Participate in testing to support information assurance.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Participate in researching security trends and recommend ways to preemptively eliminate the possibility of system breaches.
  • Respond to and record security breaches and actions taken, identifying, registering, and categorizing incidents.
  • Gather information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocate incidents as appropriate.
  • Maintain records and advise relevant persons of actions taken.
  • Design, code, test, correct, and document simple programs or scripts.
