Screenwriter for tennis drama w/attached actor ID- 10314

Reposting this with fixed price. We’re seeking an experienced, visionary screenwriter to transform our fully fleshed-out story idea and rough outline into a polished, festival-worthy screenplay.
We have working actors already attached. One was on Netflix's Narcos as series regular(happy to share name in messaging). We'd be looking to shoot in October. This is a low budget indie where cast and crew is on board with a lower rate than they normally make, but will have a percentage of equity in the film. We would be doing the same with the writer in addition to the set fee.

Short Synopsis: Once a tennis prodigy and Grand Slam champion, Nina Alvarez lost everything to addiction. Fresh out of rehab, she returns home to her family’s struggling tennis academy on the U.S.-Mexico border, where her older brother, Jeremy, is the only one who still believes in her. As she reluctantly starts coaching and rekindles her complicated relationship with the sport, old wounds resurface—family tensions, past regrets, and the love-hate bond she has with the game that once defined her. With an opportunity to compete in a wildcard tournament, Nina must confront whether tennis is her salvation or just another addiction waiting to consume her again.

With a rich blend of non-linear storytelling, introspective character arcs, and an atmospheric, A24-inspired aesthetic, this film explores themes of legacy, family, and the struggle to reclaim one’s identity in a decaying small-town academy in Tijuana.

Responsibilities:

- Adapt the provided story idea and rough outline into an industry-standard screenplay that emphasizes mood, character, and visual poetry.
- Develop engaging, authentic dialogue and structure that enhances the non-linear, meditative narrative.
Integrate thematic elements such as flashbacks, symbolic imagery, and ambient sound cues into the script’s fabric.
- Collaborate closely with our creative team to ensure the screenplay aligns with the envisioned tone and aesthetic.
- Revise the screenplay based on feedback, with clear milestones and deliverables.

Requirements:
