About the position

The Summer Associate internship at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the Corporate Finance practice. This internship will last approximately 8 weeks, commencing in Summer 2025, and is specifically designed for candidates who are expected to graduate between December 2025 and August 2026. The position is based in BRG's Boston office, where interns will work closely with experienced professionals in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The BRG Corporate Finance practice is renowned for providing strategic, operational, and financial advice to a diverse clientele, including private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors,

hedge funds, and other lenders. The practice focuses on companies that are either underperforming or undergoing transitions, leveraging deep operational experience to deliver interim management and targeted resources to support management teams. Interns will be part of a results-oriented and data-driven team that collaborates with management teams and sponsors to explore strategic options that maximize stakeholder value. As a Summer Associate, interns will engage in a variety of assignments related to Turnaround & Restructuring and Performance Improvement.

They will support the day-to-day activities of client service teams, executing multiple tasks across consulting engagements, including financial modeling and client presentations. Interns will utilize their business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks such as creating 13-week cash flow models, 3-statement models, and pro-forma scenario models. This role will also involve preparing reports, analyses, presentations, and other deliverables for clients, contributing to the development of a fast-growing consulting practice, and assisting in marketing and client pitches.

  • Progression towards a Bachelors degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Math, or related field.
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management, and other stakeholders or professionals.
  • Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.5.
  • Candidate must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
