About the position

As a Package Sorter at Amazon, you will be an integral part of the dedicated team that ensures packages are sorted and prepared for delivery. This role takes place in a fast-paced sortation center where you will be responsible for sorting, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets. Your efforts will directly contribute to getting customer orders ready for delivery, making you a vital link in the supply chain. The position offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to choose shifts that best fit your lifestyle and adjust them as needed in the future. Most shifts are part-time, providing you with control over your work hours while still being part of a dynamic team.

 

 In this role, you will engage in various physical activities, including receiving and sorting inventory, preparing customer orders for delivery, and utilizing technology such as scanners and handheld printers. You will need to be physically capable of lifting up to 49 pounds and performing tasks that require standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching during your shifts. Additionally, you may be required to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move items around the warehouse, and you might need to navigate stairs or work at heights of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine, depending on the specific location and role. Working at an Amazon Sortation Center comes with its own unique environment. Safety is a top priority, and you will be provided with protective gear and receive daily safety tips from your team. The surroundings include moving machines such as order pickers and forklifts, and you may experience varying temperatures within the warehouse, ranging from 60°F to 90°F.
