Cook/Server – Join Our Busy Breakfast & Lunch Cafe Team!
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our friendly team as a Short Order Cook and Server, working 3 days a week(we are open Tuesday-Sunday). at our bustling breakfast and lunch cafe. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a collaborative team, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Plus, as a Cook, you’ll receive an equal share of tips and have the opportunity to rotate to front of house for a weekly serving shift to mingle with our regulars!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards using various cooking equipment
- Operate griddle, range, pressure cooker, rice cooker, and toaster to ensure precise and efficient food preparation
- Ensure that food products are fresh, properly stored, and adhere to all food safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized work environment, including general cleaning of the station
- Assist in implementation of daily specials when needed
- Adhere to portion control and maintain consistency in food presentation
- Perform food prepping tasks as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to read and interpret basic recipes
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high standard of work
- Flexible schedule to work early mornings and weekends
Requirements:
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid food handler’s card
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food prep role is required
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions
- Must be able to bend, reach, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs), and stand for long periods
