Overview

The UX Researcher exists to facilitate the understanding of our chosen market and how their lives can be improved through the use of our products and services.

Covenant Eyes offers a certain kind of software-as-a-service that provides value and offers a unique solution to its subscriber’s situation. Without a proper understanding of our customers, their needs, and their environment we cannot hope to serve them well. The role of UX Researcher at Covenant Eyes is the critical link between what we offer and what our customers need. A proper view of potential, current and past customers builds the critical path to success across various touch-points including websites, new member onboarding, software and app interfaces, emails, and customer support touch-points.

Thus, the role of UX Researcher at Covenant Eyes is pivotal. A UX Researcher appreciates how the domains of qualitative and quantitativedata work together to provide an accurate view of our service and how it relates to the various personas in our customer base. A UX Researcher must collect and evaluate qualitative data through various means of collection across a wide variety of our customer base and provide meaningful insights to inform the current state and future version our software and services should take. UX Researchers must also collect quantitative data to provide a deeper understanding of our service. The UX Researcher interprets and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data, leading to recommendations that directly impact our product.

The UX Researcher collaborates with the UX Team and and the broader Product department to share the responsibility and execution of research. They also collaborate with the Business Intelligence and Member Care teams to gather and analyze user data.

Responsibilities

  • Make it easy for cross-departmental managers and team members to connect directly with users and business analytics throughout project and development cycles.
  • Plan, structure, schedule, direct, and conduct research to inform projects throughout the company, meeting the requests of project stakeholders and managers.
  • Recommend research methods to fulfill the desired outcomes of research requests by Executives, Project Stakeholders, and Managers.
  • Organize, document, store, and communicate findings making them available across departmental channels by team members throughout the company.
  • Facilitate discussion on the essence of the findings to inform Stakeholders; Project Leads; Managers; and Executives on the progress, project status, or fulfillment of the requested research.
  • Prioritize and coordinate research requests, keeping team members up-to-date on the status of their requests.
  • Explore and utilize a variety of research methodologies,understanding the benefits, drawbacks, and appropriate environment for deploying such methodologies.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX Research, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Design or a related field.
  • Demonstrated work in research, design, or UX field, ideally in a corporate or product-focused environment (preferably in the form of a portfolio).
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, data analysts and engineers.
  • Experience working with remote or distributed teams.
  • Experience with various UX research tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in research, design, or UX field, preferably in a corporate or product-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices.
  • Experience with statistical analysis.
  • Experience with advanced research methodologies such as ethnographic research, eye-tracking studies, or A/B testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve deeper research problems. Examples include developing an individual research study for a problem area, conducting user interviews, recruiting participants, crafting a survey, and running debrief sessions to highlight major findings. You employ multiple types of research methodologies in your work.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD).
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in UX research.
  • Certification in UX research or related fields (e.g., Certified Usability Analyst, Certified User Experience Professional).
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • If a remote employee, you are willing and able to travel to Global Headquarters in Owosso, MI several times a year. Due to this, you must maintain a current, valid driver license and personal automobile insurance. For on-site employees, no travel is required.
