MV Transportation is seeking a safety-oriented candidate who will serve as a Dispatcher who works to direct the day-to-day route operations and reports only to the Operations Manager. This work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with company procedures. His/her duties involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and clients. He/she must also organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance. Tracks and reports sign-in/sign-out times, assures routes are timely, and communicates service issues to the Supervisors and/or Operations Manager as appropriate.  

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the promotion and execution of our safety program under the supervision of the Safety Manager.
  • Greets visitors, employees and applicants and ensures the safety and security of the front office by being attentive to restricted areas.
  • Takes client calls and communicates issues with drivers and Dispatch Supervisors or Dispatch Managers as appropriate. 
  • Monitors radio, telephones and on-road provision of service for quality. 
  • Responsible for influencing positive employee morale and quality customer service. 
  • Monitors and completes driver sign-in and sign-out daily.
  • Monitors daily system performance consistently while performing other essential duties. 
  • Participates in analysis and review of operating performance. 
  • Notes closed and/or late starting of routes and communicates same to Dispatch Supervisors and/or Dispatch Managers as appropriate. 
  • Performs daily facility housekeeping items such as dusting, cleaning, mopping, sweeping of floors, desks, bathrooms including toilets. Maintaining a clean workspace is a must.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all information acquired, and not to be discussed unless deemed appropriate with approval from supervisors and/or managers  
  • Complete required operational reports on time and report them to the Operations Manager and others as designated.
  • Document all reports and file and/or forward to appropriate people for resolution.
  • Scheduling of drivers on next business days routes in accordance of contract requirements and system needs. Must be able to problem solve efficiently and effectively for this task.
  • Generate daily report summarizing job duties performed including staff reports regarding safety issues/concerns, operational misfortune and drivers needs/request in efforts to improve work environment.
  • General security of the front desk lobby area as well as all access points to building during opening and closing procedures.
  • Pay is $19.45/hour, schedule is Monday, Tuesday & Friday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday approximately 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM and Sunday Approximately 6 AA to 2 PM. This is a 40 hour per week position, overtime may be available to cover call outs, vacation, additional days and other needs as approved by Operations Manager. Pay and Schedule is not negotiable.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
