About the position

As a Manager of International Account Development at American Express, you will play a pivotal role in retaining and profitably growing a select number of our largest and most strategic Travel & Entertainment (T&E) and Supplier Payment customers. This position requires a proactive approach to consultation, enabling you to develop strong customer relationships that drive program growth, profitability, client satisfaction, and retention. You will be responsible for creating a strategic vision and action plans that encourage opportunities for global expansion and cross-selling. Your ownership of global strategic business plans will involve incorporating strategies and actions for penetrating relationships across various business and service units, complete with metrics of success and regular formal reviews. A detailed understanding of customers' industries, business goals, and organizational objectives will be essential. You will be accountable for developing broad and deep relationships at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.

 

In this role, you will need to understand and communicate the Global Corporate Payments value proposition on a customer-by-customer basis, quantifying that value for each client. Collaborating with key contacts across American Express, you will cross-sell complementary products and services designed for Commercial Card clients, including B2B Payment Solutions and T&E Payment Products. You will also consult with clients and interface with key linkages and operations to ensure that service quality and contractual obligations are met or exceeded. Resolving issues will require the use of formal project and action plans when necessary, and you will interpret and analyze client P&Ls to create consultative strategies aimed at improving key drivers and margins.

Responsibilities

  • Retain and profitably grow a limited number of our largest T&E/Supplier Payment customers.
  • Provide proactive consultation to develop strong customer relationships.
